Regular Season Round 19: Mechelen - Den Bosch 72-69

There was no surprise when 13th ranked DutchDen Bosch (7-10) was edged by third ranked Belgian Kangoeroes (13-5) in Mechelen 72-69 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Mechelen dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Den Bosch 's 24. Mechelen forced 22 Den Bosch turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Lithuanian guard Augustas Peciukevicius (193-1991) who led the winners and scored 14 points. American guard Trenton Gibson (193-2000, college: Indiana St.) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Four Kangoeroes players scored in double figures. Kangoeroes' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American guard LeTre Darthard (193-2000, college: Oklahoma) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!) and Surinamese-Dutch guard Charlon Kloof (190-1990, college: St.Bonaventure) added 13 points respectively for Den Bosch in the defeat. Kangoeroes have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Mechelen maintains third place with 13-5 record having just three points less than leader Oostende. Loser Den Bosch keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost.
